AI Literary Assessment

MIELOGOS openly uses a plural AI Literary Assessment Function as part of the Prize’s literary process.

Plural by design

The Prize may use one or more AI models, providers or analytical configurations, including different model versions and configurations introduced after submission. Independent, comparative, sequential, parallel, critical or escalation-based passes may be used where appropriate.

Disagreement is information, not failure.

What AI may assist with

  • first-pass literary analysis;
  • comparative assessment;
  • prioritization and advancement recommendations;
  • critical challenge and alternative readings.

No entrant is promised identical direct human reading time at every stage. Works approaching Longlist, Shortlist and Winner receive progressively deeper human literary consideration.

Institutional authority

No AI system exercises independent institutional authority over Prize recognition. Final institutional responsibility remains human.

Digital processing

Entry includes disclosed authorization for submitted materials to be processed through digital and artificial-intelligence systems used for legitimate Prize functions. Specific providers and models may change. Current factual processing particulars will be published where required before submissions open.
