2027 Founding Cycle

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers first. The governing documents remain authoritative where greater detail is needed.

Do I need to call myself an “AI writer”?

No. The Prize is concerned with the creative relationship and the literature that resulted from it.

How much AI must be in the final text?

There is no percentage test. A conversation may materially change a book without leaving a surviving AI-written sentence.

Does the work have to be about AI?

No. Symbiotic Authorship is not a genre.

Can unpublished manuscripts enter?

No. The work must already have entered genuine public circulation within the applicable release window.

Can independently published work enter?

Yes, provided the work meets the applicable eligibility requirements.

Can a work originally written in another language enter?

Yes. A complete English version may be submitted for judging. The underlying work must satisfy the public-release requirement.

Will I need to send my prompt history?

Not ordinarily. MIELOGOS begins with the entrant’s good-faith declaration and asks for proportionate clarification only where materially necessary.

Does MIELOGOS use AI to judge?

Yes, openly. AI systems may assist throughout assessment. Their outputs are arguments, not votes, and final institutional responsibility remains human.

Is there a fee?

No entry fee applies to the 2027 Founding Cycle.

What can I win?

The Founding Cycle recognizes Longlist, Shortlist and Winner status. It offers no monetary or physical prize.

Can I revise after submitting?

There is no routine post-submission literary revision period. A replacement may be authorized for a genuine wrong-file, corruption, export, transmission or other administrative/technical problem — not continued polishing.

Still unsure?

Write to prize@mielogos.org. After submission, include the Submission ID whenever possible.
